About the Book

Precious Moments/Treasured Memories is a book of poetry that I was divinely inspired by God to write. The poems were birth out of me as I faced various challenges in life. These poems are not just mere words thrown into a book, they are words that I pray will bring life into your dead situations. As you read them, my desire is that the breath of God would breathe on you and that they will minister to your every need, whether it is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. May these poems give you hope and bring you into a place with God that you´ve never experienced before.

About the Author

Tameka Michelle Newkirk is the youngest daughter of John L. and Carolyn F. Newkirk of Rose Hill, North Carolina. She is a 1997 graduate of James Kenan High School. She holds an Associate in Arts and General Education Degree and is a North Carolina certified instructor of CPR/AED for Laypersons Responder and Notary Public. Tameka recently enrolled in the Ministers in Training Institute to pursue her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees in Biblical Studies. She is currently employed with the Sampson County Schools. She is founder and owner of Michelle’s Expressions. She is a member of the St. Jude Church of Christ, under the leadership of Dr. Evelena Oliver, where she serves as musician, Music and Singles’ Ministry president, and assistant church secretary. She also serves as musician and acting secretary of Last Day Outreach Ministries where her mother, the illustrious, Elder Carolyn Newkirk is Pastor. Tameka’s passion is encouraging and helping everyone she comes in contact with. She often quotes Maya Angelou; “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. Tameka’s favorite scriptures is, Jeremiah 12:5 “If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? Tameka has a love for God and people. Her smiling face brings light to all she meets. Her inspiration is God, family, and the renowned poet, Maya Angelou. God bless you as you sit at the heart of this poet.
