I Am Terry Walker

I woke up, my eyes gummy and my mouth dry. I reached for the glass of water I usually kept next to my bed and took a long swig. It tasted so good. My mind started to clear as I got up to relieve myself and as I watched my stream the previous night started to come back to me. I had gone out with friends to “our” bar, we were celebrating a birthday. We laughed and joked and drank shots and beer most of the night. About midnight I stumbled out of the pub and down a dark alley to relieve myself, all the toilets in the bar were full and the sound of the music had gone from expert musicians to a slurry mess, my head was pounding. As I weaved my way down the alley just enough to not be seen from the street and opened my zipper a man came up to me and asked for some money. “FUCK OFF” I said, “I’m trying to take a leak”, but the man was persistent, forgetting for the time being my strong need to piss, I grabbed the man and pushed him up against the wall, he was struggling and whining like a kicked puppy. For some reason a dark cloud came down over my eyes and before I knew it I was frantically bashing his skull against the wall. Realising what was happening I let him go and he flopped to the ground, his head open and I could see brain matter on the wall where I had pounded his head against it. With my need to urinate returning I stumbled further down the alley and went for a leak. I tried to get into a couple more bars, but they kept turning me away, saying I was too drunk. I found an open bottle store and got a late night tipple to ease the walk home.
