The S Word The s word A dirty word A three letter word You’re thinking “sex” But this is far more taboo - Sad To be sad Might as well be a plague A death sentence As if words could be contagious As if feelings are a disease With no cure What if We talked about it And even more It was okay What if People weren’t afraid Of the s word It wasn’t closeted And we accepted that being sad Is okay No matter for how long Or how often Because if we knew it was okay And that it could get better Without shame, without guilt We wouldn’t hide cries for help Or end the pain In the wrong ways So please Speak of the S word And don’t silence it Being Amongst all the gases Elements and Worlds Here you are A particle in the universe For no particular reason And yet your very existence Is a miracle Lovers My heart has you Whole Pure And dignified Like the first sink Into a dreamy slumber Welcoming and numbing Cozy and consuming You are days of soft pillows And Milky chocolates Steaming tea And cold rain You are as much home As the evergreen trees Stronger The heart is a muscle Because unlike a bone It will not remain weaker once broken My Sun Just like the sun The day starts and ends With you Radiant and bright Kissing my skin Wrapping me up In warmth Bringing light To every shadow Nurturing Growing flowers in A wasteland
