About the Book
This story book is about many childhood things, but mainly about ‘a Princess, a garden, a birthday cake and a bunch of only slightly wicked, fibbing, thieving cats’. The cats like people, both trust and are distrusted, do good and bad, are honest and dishonest, judge and are pre-judged. But most importantly of all, for the most part the cats are a well intentioned, lesson learning, bunch of kindly cats. They learn as everyone should, the importance of not fibbing, or thieving, or prejudging others and that doing donating (even if it’s not tax deductible), and sharing what is spare is good. They learn too, that while meeting others who are different from you, can be sometimes scary and occasionally painful, it can be magical too.
About the Author
Amanda Gillis lives in Summer Hill and at a farm in Byng with her husband Robert, and Tommy Turtle (their shy tabby cat), and Miss Anna Bella Bambini (their black and white kitten). Amanda has a habit of quite liking cats and making pets of anything with fur, or feathers. As a child Amanda would have liked to have been Noah, so she could have collected two of every animal, but wasn’t much fussed about driving an Ark. As an adult she settled for a degree in politics and psychology and ended up with a successful career in industrial relations, which taught her much more about both. This is Amanda’s first book and was done as piece of fun for her niece and is made up of characters, which were both real and truly loved.
