The earliest recorded history of the Quad-Cities Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, Inc., was recorded on March 6, 1976. Over the years, the members of the Quad-Cities Branch have sponsored scholarships to Mississippi Valley Writers Conference, presented programs and conducted various fund-raisers to benefit the community of writers. Many writers grew in their professional careers because of their association with us in critique meetings where hardcopy manuscripts felt the sting of each editor’s sometimes harsh, but nevertheless helpful pen. Members of the Quad-Cities Branch are highly published in newspapers, magazines, journals, online, and have published numerous books. They are award-winners in state and national writing competitions, and are leaders in local and regional community and civic organizations.
