Queen Amy and the freedom fighters of Silver City knew it was only a matter of time before they’d be forced to faceoff against the overwhelming numbers of her mother’s invading black army. Queen Cassandra’s soldiers were slowly crossing the breadth of the grassland to meet their rivals on the field of battle and wipe out the impertinent threat, once and for all.

The Black Queen’s prior encounters with the upstart colony had challenged her authority and disrespected her status as territorial monarch, which was a matter of opinion between the two sides , leaving Amy’s mother no other choice but to confront her daughter, face to face. The imminent invasion was all about power, control and covering up the deep dark secrets from the past.

While the evil monarch had the larger force, capable of easily crushing her adversaries, Silver City’s freedom fighters weren’t about to go down quietly. They knew intelligence and a creative imagination were their strengths and using them to outsmart an overconfident black army was their only hope, but a good one. The colony had a few surprises waiting for their uninvited guests and allies who believed in their cause, which, with a little luck, could change the outcome in their favor.

About the Author

James, a retired Pacific Northwest fiction author, lives with his wife Shellie on Harstine Island along the shores of Puget Sound. He began his storytelling with family and friends in the seventies, after a tour of duty in Viet Nam in 1968. His first book wasn’t written until the mid nineties and grew to an ANThology series of eight books. This delightful story is an enjoyable tale of survival and conquest appreciated by young and old alike. Life is an adventure, enjoy the ride.
