About the Book
When Jennifer Dale, a young school teacher, met Richard Whitaker, a Texas rancher, and fell in love with him, her fate was sealed. From the time she first walked into his house a strange chill enveloped her. Something cold and evil seemed to possess it. Little Jamie, her student and Richards's child, was first to be brushed by the unseen horror, and Jennifer became entangled in it because of her concern for both the man and his son. The questions asked by this riveting novel are ancient ones, questions scheduled for those of our modern world who are normally skeptical of the so-called occult. Can a man's dead wife -however beautiful and wanton- attempt to possess the body of his intended bride and destroy her soul? Can black magic work? Can it work today in our scientific no nonsense world? Perhaps not, and yet.... Here is a novel of suspense that tells just such a story, revealing the strange resources of witchcraft and the shocking power of evil which still might exist in a modern world.
