My Son, My Daughter, My Child

About the Book

My Son, My Daughter, My Child tells the story of a child with Asperger Syndrome, high functioning Autistic individual, who is also Transgender. Her goal is to educate the reader about these two phenomenons by relaying the challenges, frustration, fear and dismay and successes for, Jason and his immediate family. The book provides the foundation and background for the sequel “My Son, My daughter, My High Schooler”. She also is a published poet with International Society of Poets and a Playwright.

About the Author

Amethyst Rose Amethyst Rose, is a strong advocate for equality and acceptance. Her double major in Special Education, primary focus was Autism, and Theater enabled her in providing a more acceptable environment for individuals with special needs using theatre as the venue by which to meet this goal. She has counseled many children and parents regarding coping, accepting and acknowledging challenges. She helps young folks to deal with “bullying” through skits and short plays. Her 30 plus years in Human Resources, primarily senior level, addressed many issues regarding, individuals with disabilities, Gays, Lesbians, Transgender etc in the work environment.
