Tish McWhinny, the elder sleuth of Lofton, Vermont is but the most recent in a long line of creations from the mind and imagination of Barbara Comfort. Known throughout her professional career as an exceptional visual artist, she did not set pen to paper until the time of life when most other people are considering retirement. In 1982 Comfort, with Vermont friends, started LANDGROVE PRESS and published her first three books. After which the COUNTRYMAN PRESS published in hard cover the next two books—The Cashmere Kid and Elusive Quarry. In 1998 A Pair for the Queen was published by W.W. Norton.
