About the Book

Caroline, a minister’s daughter, endures a difficult relationship with an older, jealous sister and a mother who show her little affection or love. Caroline and her father, however, form a special bond of love and understanding. He guides her through teenage years and college, while serviing as a Navy Chaplain in World War II. Caroline falls in love with a Pre-Med student, postpones her nursing career, and starts a family, She soon finds her husband is an atheist. A second marriage to a Roman Catholic, and then a third marriage to a Jewish gentlemen, all cause her marital conflicts.

About the Author

The author has written “Dear God, What’s Next?” based on her own life. She promised herself that when she had children of her own, each one would be welcomed and loved equally.. At age thirty-eight Carolyn Barmett finished nursing school and started a new career. During her third marriage her husband became terminally ill and needed her home nursing care. She was able to combine his personal care with a career in real estate, working out of their home in St. Petersburg, Florida. She enjoys vacations in Cancun and visiting her children in New Mexico, Colorado, and Maryland.
