The Wollencald Murders: A Fine Madness is the story of a house and a family.  Extremely wealthy, the Wainscrofts, Hamiltons, and Mitchums are not immune from the tragedies and joys of people of every circumstance.  However, they are of inherited wealth and among the rich-who-do-not-wish-to-be-famous: preservation of the family name and fortune is the primary focus of their lives.  Privacy, an almost obsessive concern.

 

Before, during, and after WWII, the Hamilton-Wainscroft fortune is little affected.  When Harland Wainscroft, of Wollencald in Atlanta, marries Annie Laurie Hamilton, of Edisto Island, SC, two fortunes and family reputations are joined.  Their union is, however, a love match and the daughter who is born to them reflects that feeling: she is named LeBeau Lightheart.  At about age four, this precocious little girl (according to Woll


About the Author

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Jones, aka Elizabeth Allison Jones, is finally, intentionally writing. Until the mid 80's, her writing connected to various jobs: recreation and sports; performances in concert; radio scripts; fashion show commentary; ballet narration; original plays; planning, teaching and consulting, kindergarten through college. Colleges attended were Georgia Southern University (B.S.), Florida State University and Rollins College ( M.A.T.). Consultant work was done at Auburn University at Montgomery and Rollins College (Language Arts); Florida State University (Music Education). Poetry was published in New Jersey, South Carolina, California; two books, Facets and Emerald Shadows, are also in print. An essay, Portrait: My Father, will appear in Humanities in the South. Elizabeth is currently working on a modern day version of the Flood and Noah story: a podiatrist, who loves the water, is the focus.
