About the Book

Harry Landry is in a gunfight before he can change out of the suit he wore to his brother’s funeral.  He won’t need it again, unless for his own.  Alone in the world, especially this part of it, he leaves his late Pa’s small Arizona ranch and drifts. He’s making a hand with a Colorado outfit when he again crosses trails with a Hoemyer brother, still unhappy about the other two.  Harry wins a standoff and drifts again.  With his mentor, Lomas, he learns outlaw trails and gun savvy.  He comes back from his gambling trade to side his Colorado outfit in a range war.  Finally, a personal matter brings him again to the big Arizona valley where the Hoemyers rule the roost--but not forever.

N. Ross Peterson is a retired communications worker, living for many years in Arizona, with a large extended family. He writes fiction and poetry. A Bad Name And A Bullet is his first novel.
