About the Author
Draja Mickaharic was born in rural Bosnia shortly before the First World War. Immigrating to the United States in 1939, he arrived in New York City where he has made his home. He practiced as a folk magician and counselor, serving the ethnic population of the lower east side of New York for forty-five years. Now retired from active practice, he devotes himself to writing when physically able. He is the author of three other books dealing with magic, published by Samuel Weiser, Inc., now Red Wheel Weiser of Boston, and four other books published by Xlibris.com of Philadelphia.
