When his exasperating friend is suspected of murdering a university vice-chancellor, Owen Cheney puts down his teacup and his needlepoint in order to lend a helping hand. Advancing by hunch and hearsay, the unaccustomed sleuth carries his investigation through the curious by-ways of the college town and learns at last that his suspicions were on target when he finds himself at the barrel end of a revolver.
About the Author
Tarquin Mackenzie was born and spent the first eight years of his life in Rome before returning with his family to Nova Scotia. After university, he worked for a time as a circus performer. He later took up schoolmastering, a career which he pursued in various academies in New England until he succumbed to ancestral voices. He now lives in a remote glen of the Scottish highlands.
