About the Book

Life’s Obstacles is an assortment of poems, short stories and other creative writing pieces. The variety ranges from love to peer pressure. Most of Bradley’s writing comes from her life and past experiences. She writes about her family and her friends, and describes what a true friend is. There are pieces on falling in love and falling out of love. Some are about death and how death sometimes produces a positive outcome in certain situations. Several are about sibling rivalry, and how in some circumstances, it can get out of control to the point of serious violence. A large portion of them are about peer pressure, and how that influences different things like eating disorders and low self-esteem. Along with these serious topics are some laid back, creative pieces. For example, there are poems about colors and what they mean to people. There is also a piece where it shows you that you can write a whole poem using a single word. Pieces like these are certainly appropriate for the younger readers. Although most of this book is suitable for the more mature readers, who can fully relate to theses mature pieces. Life’s Obstacles unquestionably shows off Bradley’s impressive writing skills to have the ability and fortitude to write about topics that are above and beyond most sixteen year olds minds.
