About the Author
In April of 1933, Herman Melvin Witten became the second of seven children borne to John William and Flora Estella Witten in the State of West Virginia. Most of the Author’s adult life was spent in Washington, D. C. where all three of his children were born, reared and educated. After serving eight years in the United States Air Force during the Korean and the Vietnam wars, he returned to the Nations Capital to continue his studies. Mr. Witten, an accomplished Carpenter and Brick Mason, worked for several years as a Building Contractor and as an employee of the Federal and D. C. Governments. He has always been fascinated by historical events and began writing seriously during his latter teenage years. He wishes to spend his remaining time doing research, teaching and writing.
