About the Author

Daphne La’Shan Wright was born on August 22, 1971 to Viola Wright and Walter L. Murray. She was educated in the Birmingham City School System. She was a 1990 graduate of C.W. Hayes High School, and a graduate of Southern Institute College with continuing education at both the University Of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Institute of Children’s Literature. Daphne entered eternal rest for her heavenly home on July 9, 2002. Daphne’s last wish was for her book to be published so that others could learn not only about Sickle Anemia but be empowered by her battle with Sickle Cell Anemia.
