About the Author

About the Author Sally Lou Sharp was born in Akron, Ohio. Sally graduated from Kent State University in 1969 receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Later, she attended Akron University for post-graduate studies. Her peers selected her in 1993 for the Teacher of the year of East Camden Middle School. In 1993-1994 and 1997-1998, Ms. Sharp was chosen for the Camden City’s Teacher of the Year. She appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1992. Awards and honors bestowed on Sally include the Kiwanis Award for Communications in 1990, the New Jersey Ms. Communicator Award in 1990, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Conservation Award in 1995, Outstanding Achievement Award from the Girl Scouts in 1995. She was the designer, producer and host of a weekly radio show, “The Young Heroes and Heroines of Today”, on WFPG AM (1450) during 1987-1994 and designed, wrote, and directed several programs for Channel 18 and Channel 14. Presently, Ms. Sharp is the Site Coordinator at the Creative Arts High School in Camden, New Jersey. Sally’s writing has taken many different forms throughout the years in books, plays, poetry, song writing, and children’s story writing and telling. She hopes that Baby Jules will touch her reader’s lives in some small way help our children.
