“Steel Magnolia” is a cautionary tale about what happens when a flower isn´t given enough room to grow. It draws a parallel between gardening and raising and nurturing young girls and balancing the need to empower their growth with the need to protect them.

About the Author

Melanie Hunter is the mother of two girls and has worked in the news business for over 12 years. This is her first published children’s book.
