About the Author
I love God. And I’m a Christian, woman and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over thirty five years: A successful business woman of eight years who lives in the Pacific Northwest. I am a proud mother of three children: Lavelle Dupree, Larry Nakia, Tamla Mieia, two daughter in-laws and one son-in-law, seven precious grandchildren, and adopted mother Ms. Betty Joyce Mewborn and god mother, Dorothy Ann Knight. I am the fifth child of seven children – two sisters and four brothers and my special friend Richard, who has encouraged me to follow my dreams. I attribute my success to my determination and faith in God. I became involved because of my love for people with special needs. I feel that such inspire me to do the work that I do. The biggest issue facing me in my profession. I feel, is the lack of discussion on the part of politicians and the government on fi nancing care for adults with Special Needs. With 28 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I have been in my current position at Friends of Families, LLC for eight years; my responsibilities include caring for individuals with special needs and fi nding living arrangements. Friends of families is home healthcare company that provides healthcare services for Special Needs. On July 16, 2008, as a business Owner I have been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of the healthcare service.
