This book has given me the courage to face the future, the knowledge to fi nd love where I thought none existed and the strength to get past the shadows the haunt me.

About the Author

My name is Elizabeth Dianne(Dyanna) Hickman, Vaughn. I was born in the small town of Clinton, South Carolina, where I have lived all my life. My Moms, Janie and Ressie Hickman have been my biggest role Models, because they taught me about life and gave me a great life. Laura Ingalls Wilder has been my greatest inspiration because we have both been through so many things and are so much alike. My greatest influence in life has been life itself . It has taught me that everything happens for a reason and to accept the things that happen , and it has taught me that there is love where I thought none existed . And this book is in memory of my Aunt Mae, who passed away just weeks Before my finishing it.
