About the Author

PAUL BENNETT is an award-winning journalist who has more than eighteen years of experience as a television anchor/reporter; radio anchor; print publisher, editor, reporter; and Internet news blogger. In 2008, the Houston Press Club, the largest professional news media organization in Texas, placed Bennett third as its Texas Print Journalist of the year for print publications. It must be noted that Bennett accomplished this as an almost totally one-person band operation. Bennett is an alumnus of Howard University and a graduate of Texas Southern University, where he majored in journalism. Currently, Bennett is an English teacher at Milby High School in Houston, Texas.

"Mr Bennett has written a very dark and morbid look at religion, life, and relationships. He claims in some of his submissions to believe in the ""Saviour"" and yet other submissions reflect that of an Atheist. Mr Bennett's struggle with this conflict is expressed via the use of metaphors and blatant cynicism, thus keeping the reader perplexed. His writing style suggests influences of James Joyce, Nikki Giovanni, and Langston Hughes.
Interestingly, amongst the Calvinistic anger, there is a sweetness that permeates as he reminisces the eternal bond maintained with his mum whose recent death due to Alzheimer complications has prompted this expose' of prose and poetry. I found much of the book disturbing, but would be remiss not to marvel the outstanding writing talent that Paul F. Bennett has presented."
