About the Book

"Everyday Prayers and More" was written and published in 2014. It contains simple and thoughtful prayers for many holidays, various needs and special occasions. Titles of some of the concluding chapters discuss prayer, Christian living, discipleship and faith. In the concluding chapter, Kathryn expresses her views on these and other subjects. Her goal is to offer prayers that are easy to understand and yet are meaningful.

About the Author

Kathryn Kurth Scudder was the oldest of five children born to Kenneth and Eunice Kurth. She was raised in the Detroit area and still resides there today. She graduated from Hope College, Holland, Michigan, and earned a master’s degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She taught over thirty years in the Detroit area. In her post-teaching years, she held a variety of paid and volunteer church-related positions, and also volunteered at a local hospital. Kathryn was a Certified Lay Speaker in the Methodist Church. She helped begin a women's guild, a mission needlework group, an intercessory prayer group and midweek worship services in her current church. She is a strong believer in the importance of accepting Christ Jesus as one's Lord and Savior. Kathryn married her college sweetheart, Kenneth Earl Scudder. They raised four children and have nine grandchildren. Kenneth passed away in 1993 from a heart condition. Kathryn resides in an active retirement community and enjoys the activities there. She also travels to see two of the children who live out of the state.
