About the Book

An Arab bandit raids a caravan headed for Jerusalem and captures a teenage girl, the daughter of an aristocratic crusader family in Jerusalem. The family hires Eric and Haroun, two of the toughest mercenaries in the country, to rescue her. What no one knows at first is that the bandit, Ali Rashid, is Eric’s half-brother. To complicate matters further, the teenage girl, Jane Longreach, is a witch—an actual spell-casting, demon-summoning witch. Because she’s young, she doesn’t yet have her full powers; but as she becomes more and more powerful it becomes debatable exactly who needs to be rescued.
