About the Book

This book is designed for students who need additional preparation for math classes at North Park University numbered 1510 Calculus I and 1520 Calculus II or higher. The book covers all the topics that are required for this course: topics in properties and graphs of functions such as polynomial functions, rational functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, and inverse trigonometric functions; topics in solving equations and inequalities; trigonometric identities and applications of trigonometric functions; complex numbers; and conic sections.

About the Author

Alice Gorguis, a faculty member of Mathematics department at North Park University in Chicago, received her PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago Circle (UIC), and 68-credit hours toward PhD in Solid State Physics, and received M.S in Physics from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago (NEIU), also received M.S in Statistics from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Worked as a full time faculty for 18 years. As author and reviewer of Elsevier Publishing Journal, she authored and published 10 articles, and reviewed over 40 articles for publication for many different Elsevier Journals She published the following books with Xlibris publishing:  Intermediate Algebra with Analytic Geometry.
