One man slipped into a climbing harness, threw the rope down the side of the canyon, then slowly repelled until he reached Beebe. He touched her throat and hollered, “She’s alive. Throw down another rope so I can tie it around her waist!” The man had finished securing the rope around Beebe when she opened her eyes, looked down at the Canyon far below, and screamed, “Oh Lord no, I’m gonna die a horrible death!” and began to scream in terror.
