Getting ready in the morning can be challenging. It is a hassle and a process within itself. Harper hates morning preparations, but her mother, helps Harper understand the importance of getting ready. Why? Because growing up as a young black girl, she needs that extra push. Harper’s mother instills her with compliments, talks, and reassurance about self-love. The most valuable lessons are taught at home.

About the Author

Much like Harper, Tavia Branch has had moments when she felt out of place in the world, causing her to question her impact and purpose. Building and maintaining her confidence happened as a reflection of how she was raised. Her upbringing molded her into the woman she is. From her childhood, Tavia has always wanted to be a teacher to others. She strives to empower both young girls and women of color. Her deep passion for reading, writing, and self-development encouraged her to become an author. She wants her writing to create a haven in the minds of others and reveal that loving yourself can change your entire view on life.
