About the Author

Jeanine Ferreri Alberti graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Art Education from Bowling Green State University, in Ohio, in 1970 and earned her elementary education degree in 1978. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University, in Ohio, in 1993 while also teaching in Bowling Green City Schools. Jeanine taught virtually every subject in elementary school for 26 years and then focused on social studies and language arts in middle school for her last 4 years in the profession. In retirement, Jeanine followed the advice she had given to her students for so many years, “In order to be an effective writer, one must know about what one writes about...or do research!” Childhood summers with her siblings provided her a myriad of memories from which to draw. Her first book, Catching Lightning Bugs in Our Jammies, shows what it was like to grow up in a large family during simpler times. Growing up with many siblings in the 1950s and 60s, she knew exactly what that was like! Trish Flannery is an illustrator and author of children’s books for educational and literary publishers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Canada. Credits include Simon’s Hat from Clavis Publishers and the Moorchild by Eloise McGraw published by Gottmer Books. Come Live with Me written by Jennine Staring is her most recent picture book, published by Christofoot Publishers in the Netherlands. Trish also gives drawing and illustration workshops for children. She studied in the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. and the Maastrict Academy of Fine Arts and Design in the Netherlands. Website: www.teeka-art.com
