About the Book

Follow the Butterflies is a debut collection which tracks the metamorphosis from childhood to womanhood, opening with early experiences and observations before culminating in reflections on the eve of marriage. The poetry in this volume was composed over the course of six years spent in the anthropological equivalent of a chrysalis; secondary and tertiary education. Ranging from witty observations to elegiac verses, these poems touch on the author's experiences as a child and adolescent, through to observations made working in the galleries of a museum and as a United Nations Youth volunteer, punctuated by funny and moving encounters with people from all walks of life.
