Bastard Son of a D.A. is a novel based on the typical and not so typical life experiences of youth growing up in Southern California in the early 1990's. Set to the background of the diverse punk rock and skateboarding underground of California.  The novel includes a bizarre cast of characters from a cold war immigrant named Doc Dude to psychotic criminals and drunk punk rockers.  The novel criss-crosses the lives of post adolescent teenagers who are disenchanted with the modern treehugging MTV happy starbucks corporate culture that is being forced upon them.  Ultimately the apathetic adolescents become entangled in a dark world of drug dealing and Mexican Mafia violence, a world they can't distance themselves from and one that lies underneath the supposed calm current of Southern California culture.

About the Author

John Quinlen was born and raised in Southern California. Currently he lives in Hollywood, were he helps to produce and write ill-fated television shows.
