About the Author
Award-winning graphic designer Elizabeth Levine Wandelmaier left her career to raise her first daughter, Lea. Life changed dramatically when Elizabeth’s second daughter, Rose, was born four years later with multiple disabilities. Rose’s conditions may have been caused by DES, a synthetic estrogen given to Elizabeth’s mother during pregnancy. Rose’s Colors is the inspiring true story of this family’s journey to love a very different child. Today, Elizabeth is Co-Director of the DES Third Generation Network, a national advocacy group that gathers information about grandchildren of women given DES. Elizabeth is proud of both daughters and happy to be making art again.
