About the Author
Author Biography: Mary Jarvis After retiring from a nursing career that spanned five decades, Mary Jarvis is pursuing a lifelong dream of writing stories for children of any age. When Is a Bear Not a Bear? A Family Tale is her first book and based upon a story idea that began sixteen years ago when her son brought home a unique and tiny four legged foundling from the Idaho woods. She and her husband Charles live in Colorado with their elderly friend, Little Bear. Biography for illustrator Christine Bauer Christine is a missionary kid who grew up in West Africa. She always loved drawing and painting. Since marrying Steve in 2008 and discovering that his mother needed an illustrator for her children’s book, a beautiful collaboration began. She and Steve share the Gospel of Jesus Christ (as found in the Bible) every chance they get where they live in Colorado and while this is not a religious story, we hope it has brought you joy and perhaps some contemplation of some of the more important issues in life.
