For ten generations, the Raberata civilization has lived amongst the humans, coexisting with this strange, decadent race that offered them protection out of the reach of their brutal oppressors, the Bavakh Empire. For ten generations, they lived in isolation, until Aresh left their settlement, and lived with these humans. Aresh understood them, their politics and corruption. And he would use this power to control all. This is a different kind of alien invasion story, in which the aliens seek to control humankind not through overwhelming military force, but through propaganda, media control, and exploitation ofpolitical decadence. "Raberata" dares to explore science fiction at its most bleak, cynical, and surreal possibilities going to stylistic and polemic extremes to produce a new kind of science fiction epic, one refreshingly chimerical and oppressive.
