About the Book
Let’s take a fun trip to England with two sets of sisters ages sixty-two to seventy years. The actions of these four feisty ladies, from London to the village of Lower Slaughter, provide the arm chair traveler with a cozy reading adventure. This story not only delivers humor, warmth and conflict but also gives factual travel information - especially about the Cotswold villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter, Bourton–on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden, and Burford.
About the Author
Jacque, a third generation Californian, was born in Sacramento, CA in 1927, moved to Berkeley, CA in 1937, and was raised in that then-delightful town, a wonderful place to grow up in the 1940s. After World War II she married her high school sweetheart, Dale. Four children later, the Hall family moved to Martinez, CA where she has lived since 1961. Sadly, in 1992, Dale passed away from lung cancer. “Our golden years together flew out the window,” Jacque says. Never one to sit around and mope, she started a writing career and in March 2000, at the age of 72, her first picture book, WHAT DOES THE RABBIT SAY? was published by Random House/Doubleday. Jacque, who loves to travel to England with family and friends, continues to enjoy life with her eleven grandchildren. She, herself, is now a cancer survivor and counts each day as a blessing.
