About the Author

Herb Edson is one of a large family who grew up during The Great Depression. The town where he lived, Mt. Vernon (Mt. Hebron) in Southern Illinois, is the setting for most of his stories and poems. He served 3 ½ years in World War Two as a guard at the White House in Wash. D.C. and in the Pacific. During this period, he married a home town girl and they have one daughter. After the war, they moved to New Orleans, La. where they still reside.
