About the Author

Elmer Havens was born of Salvation Army officers in Jackson, Mississippi. He lived throughout the South, the Northeast, and the Middle West, went to public schools in North Carolina, Connecticut, and New York, and to college in Iowa, seminary in New Jersey, and graduate school in Wisconsin. He earned four degrees: a B.A., a B.D., an M.A., and a Ph.D. He served a pastorate in Delaware County, New York, and helped found the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he rose through the ranks to full professor. This is his third novel.
