About the Author
I was born in the Springfield Section of Jacksonville, Fla., Oct 12, 1934. I graduated from Andrew Jackson High School (1952) and attended Jacksonville Junior College and Jacksonville University while working for The Associated Press. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in English (1961) and did a year of graduate study at UF in Journalism.Through college, I worked as a correspondent for the Jacksonville Journal, Miami News and Pensacola News-Journal. After five years as a sports writer, layout editor and copy editor for the Jacksonvile Journal, I moved to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and am in my 36th year with that publication. I have won three national awards and one state award for sports writing. My novel, “Daily Double {Cross} , won a notable mention in the First Coast Writers Festival conducted by North Florida Community College in Jacksonville in 1997. Currently, I am a copy editor in the Gwinnett Bureau of the Journal-Constitution.
