About the Book
He believes himself to be a Vampire.
For 50 years Raimund Rampvier has wandered Europe, unable to remember the event that cursed him - indeed, unable to remember anything about himself. In 1909 he finds himself in the provincial city of Dröhnenfurt , Austria, playing the role of an American trader, and plagued by a reoccurring dream that both teases and threatens with the truth about himself.
It is here that he meets Louisa Schiferl by chance - or is it by fate?
Louisa, blinded in an accident two years previously, is immediately attracted to this strangely lonely man. While she insists it is only infatuation, she knows from the first meeting that a stronger force is at work. Her brother, Alfred, disapproves of the relationship from the outset, while another stranger appears in Dröhnenfurt seeking Rampvier´s death. What hope is there for them to find happiness in her world - or in his?
Sequels, The Sleep of Prometheus and Home are now available.
