I’m an African-American woman born in the 1960s--“the heart of change for practically everyone in America”. This decade brought about so much consciousness that I believe my motivations towards truly establishing equality was due to the energies of that era. I constantly analyzed negative statements and actions, while seeking the answers to why attitudes are the way that they are. The most important question and the longest search for an answer was why did White people enslave Black people? My discovers are that race is a product of the evolutionary processes of mankind, not only with skin, hair and eye color but also with the mental manifestions that created a world based on control, fear and insecurity. My goal in life is for no one to ever feel ashamed of his or her unchosen race and for race to finally be a non-issue with the pre-determined result being equality for all.
