About the Book
Knowing From Whence We Came is very rewarding, but it certainly is not the end-all. Knowing who we are and Whose we are is. That is the scarlet cord that runs through this book. It is what John Lee and Tarva Davis wanted for all 11 of their children. The stories told within these pages by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all point to that one precious treasure: “In Christ we find out who we are and what we are living for.” (Ephesians 1:11) Through charts, pictures, stories and anecdotes, this book traces their family from Wales, home of their first known Davis ancestor, to Stanton, Alabama, home of this crowd of Davises.
