About the Book

Sarah Stein is a young and talented New York City actor. She survives a disastrous early marriage, a volatile love affair, and is caring for her two children and a friend dying of AIDS, when she meets Thomas Cutler, a successful retired businessman, twice her age.

Cutler's comfortable existence is threatened as he courts Sarah with all the energy he once applied to the pursuit of business deals. Their sometimes joyful, sometimes desperate relationship unfolds against the subtly anti-Semitic traditions of the suburban country club and the dramatic New York theater world. About the Author

Donold K. Lourie has worked in the legal, mining, banking, and computer businesses in New York City. He is the author of two previous novels and a memoir.
