About the Author

Dorothy N. Cole Davis was born and reared in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Rev, and Mrs. R.V. Cole. Her formal education includes a B.A. (English), M.Ed. (Reading) and M.A. (Communications). She taught for 34 years from grade six through junior college. She received the Chancellor’s Award for Exemplary Teaching from Tarrant County College in 1994. She spent eight years for three month periods as a missionary in San Andres Island, Colombia. There she taught English and Speech. She is the wife of Rev. Nehemiah Davis, pastor of the historic Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas. She has coordinated youth worship at Mt. Pisgah for over twenty five years. She is the mother of two adult daughters and grandmother of two teenage grandsons.
