About the Book

Skylar Kingman is a senior pilot This is his last flight as he must retire tomorrow. He has spent his life accruing anecdotes about flying he’s gathered from personal experience and from other pilots. He spends the hours of his last flight telling these stories to his two young female crewmembers. Stories include: A student pilot who bails out after creating havoc over L.A. Combat veterans from Vietnam on a R&R (Rest and Recuperation) flight to Sydney. My most frightening time in an airplane. A Military student who goofs and lands gear up and manages to become a hero. A heroic stewardess named “Ding-a-ling“. Three training planes crash in a field. All the stories have an element of truth in them…how much? That varies.

About the Author

I’m a retired international Airline Pilot and I flew for 30 years. I’ve flown into every continent, every state, most large cities and many islands in the oceans of the world. I’ve been to most developed countries and many undeveloped ones as well. I’ve been to many wars transporting our troops into and out of dangerous places. I’ve flown many types of transport category airplanes beginning with the legendary DC-3 and on up to several types of today’s big jets! I’m married to an ex flight attendant who shared many of my adventures into different locations in the world. She is not the lady I refer to in the story of “My Most Frightening Time in an airplane.”
