About the Author

Jane Rubey is a nutrition professional. Before being diagnosed in April 2003 with multiple myeloma, an incurable bone marrow cancer, she taught at community colleges and the San Francisco Culinary Academy. She also had a website, Nutritiously Gourmet, which featured creative monthly menus with recipes and current nutrition information. Unable to work, she now spends time enjoying her family and five grandchildren. She also tries to inspire those around her to focus on what is most important in life and maximize the fun of it. She lives in Northern California with her husband Chuck.
