About the Book

When, against her will, young Elizabeth is sent to live with her uncle, she intends to keep his less-than-hospitable family at arm’s length. Instead, unexpectedly, she falls in love. However, Elizabeth’s joy is cut short when she becomes the pawn in a vicious rivalry over a decade old -- a rivalry rooted in murder. Now her greatest fear is that she will be the next victim, and possibly at the hands of the man she loves. England’s Lake District in the 1860’s provides the background for this story of family intrigue, betrayal, power of jealousy and the importance of trust.

About the Author

A native of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA, Joan now lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with her three adopted street dogs. She devotes her time to teaching the Bible, designing jewelry and writing. A graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, she holds BFAs in Advertising Design and Sculpture. Before turning to writing, she enjoyed an active career in advertising and marketing communications as adesigner, art director, and copywriter.
