About the Book

The years of 1888 through 1902 found Bruno Delucci, the founder of Bon ja Val which in the ensuing years would become the largest and wealthiest diamond extraction site in Brazil, had a dilemma. He could not sell his industrial diamonds to the buyers that came through the diamond district. They were on the outlook for only the gem quality diamonds. While Bruno was establishing his diamond extraction sites, he had started to build his dream home. He had all the beautiful woods and stone any man could want since it was plentiful beyond words. He set about to build ‘THE DIAMOND HOUSE’. He had the manpower and his financial success allowed him to furnish his home with the choicest art objects of the world, and the most modern conveniences known in his day. The Diamond House was fit for a king who was an overseer of an empire. Bruno Delucci had an empire. Since the walls of Bruno’s dream home would be built out of adobe block and covered with a coat of stucco. He included his hoard of 10,000 or more of his industrial diamonds into the stucco of his dream home so the whole world could gaze upon them in wonderment. When the sunlight would come upon them they would sparkle with magical beauty. Now the time has moved ahead to late 1917. The bandit activity was slowly gaining strength. Riders of 300 or more bandits were roaming the country side pillaging and murdering. Already seven diamond extraction compounds had been wiped outs killing over six thousand men, women and children. Bruno wrote a letter to his only family member. Paul Moresi. asking him to come and join him in Brazil. Bruno’s letter took three months to catch up to Paul since he was in France fighting in that terrible conflict. Paul had been injured trying to save his best friend Eric Wolfe while they were caught in a heavy artillery bombardment on the Western Front. Eric had visited Paul while in the Paris hospital and in reading Bruno’s letter, Paul stated to Eric he would join Bruno in Brazil since he had no where else he was needed. Eric promised Paul that if he was ever in need of his help please call on him he would be proud to join him. Eric had spent twenty eight months in front line warfare and came out with medals of bravery from the Canadian and French governments. While being awarded the Congressional Medal Of Honor. Following a brief stay at home, Eric’s father presented a letter from Paul urging him to join him in Brazil. By this time Eric was a recluse. He had become an alcoholic, and he cared for nothing except to creep inside of a bottle. He ceased in believing there was a creator. He could not face his only real love, Sydni. since he was totally ashamed of himself. Eric parents urged him to attend a young peoples get together at Miracle Lake before his departure for Brazil. He allowed himself to show his love for Sydni with the outcome of Sydni becoming pregnant. Eric would not know concerning this for over three years that he had a son. Prior to Eric’s arrival in Rio, Bruno Delucci had been killed by the Xingo Indians while prospecting for diamonds. Eric and Paul now found themselves embroiled in a three year struggle for survival not only for themselves, but for the 10,000 inhabitants of Bon ja Val. Eric’s knowledge of warfare learned on the battle fields of France, made him a genius in how to overcome an enemy that was out to annihilate them and their new found family with armies of 10,000 to over 30,000 soldiers. Eric’s power and ability with a gun was astonishing as he was called upon to show himself off as a gunfighter that has never before been witnessed. On several occasions, with his incredible speed and accuracy he could take out seven men with bullets to their brains with his two side arms. Why shouldn’t he be gifted, that is all he did for three years and he had plenty of available targets. Eric’s trip into the Amazon with his select 120 man troop had two motives, to locate the hidden diamond fields of the Amaz
