Book Summary To become a small town lawyer in a Norman Rockwell setting is Sonny Campbell’s dream of a future after law school. Hagerstown, Maryland provides the desired setting. For excitement, Sonny and his wife are content with watching the Hagerstown Suns play baseball. Placid life suddenly changes with the murder of Sonny’s best friend, a member of the team. A search for the killer puts a twenty year old Negro in jail awaiting trial. His aspiration to become a doctor is interrupted. The killer’s identity is not revealed until the final pages. This book will take the reader on a flight over the fog shrouded Andes to Argentina and to adventures in a dozen other distant places. You will become breathless somewhere between Lima, Ohio and Santiago, Chile.

About the Author

About the Author Mr. Hipkiss is a native of New York City. He finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force Security Service during the Korean War. While working at the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland, he attended the evening session at American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington D.C. He practiced as a trial lawyer until 1995 at which time he retired and started writing. He has three grown sons and he and his wife, Elizabeth Catherine LaGrande, a classical singer and teacher of singing, presently live in Rockford, Illinois.
