Akim was born and raised in a culture in which giving birth to a son is a treasure. Life without a son is meaningless for them. At the age of twenty-six, he got married to a beautiful thirteen-year-old girl named Jaina. After having two beautiful healthy daughters with her, he became so desperate of getting a son. He then started blaming and neglecting his wife and daughters. Soon, he decided to marry a second wife with the hope of getting a son. Fortunately, for him, he got one named Ali with his second wife. About the Author

Mariam “mama” Ceesay was born on 1969 in a town call Bakau, The Gambia, West Africa. She has been always hostile to cruelty and mischievous since she was a child. She attended Albion primary school and graduated in social science at Saint Joseph high school in 1988 in The Gambia. After my graduation, I started a small hairdressing salon at home with the notion of making money to go abroad for a change. In October 1990 I left for Sweden, where I studied the Swedish language, worked as a hospital cleaner and a nursing assistant for survival. Also, studied a computer course and got married in Sweden and has three precious children.
