About the Book
While walking through the woods, a young boy named Auvien encounters Scaley, a very hungry dragon. Using his wits, Auvien courageously manages to convince the dragon to try eating fruit instead of him. Auvien then proposes a deal; that if Scaley doesn’t like the fruit, he will be Scaley’s lunch. But, if Scaley does like the fruit, he will have to fly Auvien high into the air for a ride on his back. The story ends on a happy note with Auvien and Scaley becoming best friends. This is truly a wonderful tale about courage, wits, friendship and being open to new experiences.
