About the Book

The book Time-Out Tommy is a book for emergent readers that balances phonics and whole language. The book focuses on the "t" and the "th" sound , using alliteration throughout the book. In addition to the phonemic component, it is a tale about a boy who faces the consequences of his actions. He learns that bullying is unacceptable among his classmates.

About the Author

Heather Stein- Zimic is a proud mother of two children, Ava and Cole. She is currently a Reading Specialist for the Levittown Public Schools in New York. She believes in a balanced literacy approach towards whole language and phonics, for emergent readers. Additionally, she has a great passion for teaching children of all ages.
